Achieving a meditative state of mind is the key to living a life of happiness and peace. When doing tasks or indulging in their passion, people may find it easy to drop into this state. But when pursuing the act of meditation as a spiritual practice, people face difficulty and Shree Hari Yoga helps them with a 100-hour meditation and pranayama teacher training course. They have naturally wandering minds and meditation can feel unattainable, even impossible sometimes.

Who can join?
This course is open to all. Shree Hari Yoga encourages those who are ready and willing to adopt a healthy lifestyle and dedicate much of their time to the practice of meditation. No previous pranayama or meditation experience is required. They only ask that you come with an open mind and a desire to learn.

Daily schedule
  • 06:30 - 08:30 Prayer, asana practice, pranayama, or meditation
  • 08:30 - 10:00 Breakfast
  • 10:00 - 12:00 Two lectures or practices of 50 minutes each (pranayama and meditation)
  • 12:00 - 15:00 Lunch break, relaxation, self-studies
  • 15:00 - 17:00 Two lectures or practices of 50 minutes each (pranayama and meditation)
  • 17:00 - 17:30 Refreshment

The accommodation offered is simple, comfortable, safe, and clean. You are located very close to both the yoga hall and also to Kudle beach. You can choose from shared accommodation which caters for a maximum of two people or alternatively you can choose to have a private single room. These rooms are your perfect respite for rest and relaxation. The sheets are crisp, clean, and pristine white. You will immediately sink into the comfortable mattress.

As you open your door you will witness the spectacular scenery of rolling hills, rice fields, and palm trees that blow in the breeze. The warm, salty breeze from the ocean will fill your soul with calmness.

You will be served three daily Satvic vegetarian meals and drinks.

The menu is healthy and energy-boosting. You will be served from Monday to Saturday 3 times a day with local fresh cooked meals.

Location

Gokarna is a small temple town on the western coast of India in the state of Karnatica. This is located in the Kumta taluk region of Uttara Kannada. The main temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. Mahabhaleshwara Temple, the temple houses what is believed to be the original image of Lord Shiva's lingam (Atmalinga).

Gokarna is known as one of the seven important Hindu pilgrimage centres. It is on what was once an unspoiled beach near the estuary of the river Aghanashini. Recently, due to the number of tourists, the character of the town has changed; it is no longer just a pilgrimage as it hosts tourists nowadays. However, a large number of devotees visit Gokarna to offer prayers to Lord Shiva.

Due to Gokarnas relaxed, unspoiled and rustic nature, many western tourists began visiting the place approximately a decade ago. Therefore enterprising locals opened stores and restaurants.

The drive up on the winding path that leads to Gokarna is scenic, with the rocky mountains and the Western Ghats on one side and the Arabian Sea on the other side. Gokarna is known for its beaches. Gokarna's main beach and Kudle beach are facing west. Om beach, Half Moon Beach, and Paradise Beach (also known as Full Moon beach) are facing south. Heaven Beach and Nirvana Beach (3 kilometres long with fine white sand) lie across the Aghanashini River.

How to get there

Arrival by airplane

Please book your flight to arrive at Goa International Airport (GOI). This is the nearest airport, 140 kilometers away. It is well connected to Indian and international cities. Shree Hari Yoga can organize your pick up from the airport at an additional cost of 50 USD.

Arrival by bus

The buses travel here from Bengaluru, Mangalore, Hubli, and other major cities. You can also catch a bus from Madgaon, near Goa. Gorkana is about 10 kilometers off the NH17 connecting Mumbai to Kochi.

Arrival by train

The nearest railway stations are Gokarna Road (10 kilometers) and Ankola (20 kilometers). You can catch an auto-rickshaw from the train station. It can be pre-booked with Shree Hari Yoga.

Guru Hari was raised by a Nepalese father and Indian mother in a cross-cultural context near Rishikesh. From an early age, Hari rejoiced in and sung mantra. Presently, Guru Hari teaches a traditional Hatha yoga combined with classical knowledge, experiential understanding, and wisdom, as well as a modern outlook. This style of yoga teaching by Guru Hari is essentially a Nath lineage tradition. Guru Hari is also a chef of Ayurvedic food which is known in yogi terminology as sattvic food.
