Shree Hari Yoga offers the specialization in 100-hour Restorative yoga teacher training, which helps to flex the body slowly and help to restore health. Many times you may experience dullness in body and mind as well. In yoga teacher training to delve into 100-hour Restorative yoga, you will be calm and your mind will reset which will help with physical, mental, and emotional relaxation. This is a slow-paced style of yoga with different postures and asanas for a long time.
How the use of props in Restorative yoga for health benefits and injury relief
Restorative yoga came as a blessing for the people to retain their health with the help of props. These props emerged as beneficial for the yoga postures regardless of physical ability, age or duration of the course. The central theme behind using the prop is to provide support to deal with injuries of body parts. In this 100-Hour Restorative Yoga Teacher Training Course, you will be using all kinds of props. There are many props used for Restorative yoga, a few are explained below with their need and importance.
Bolsters
Bolster is specially designed for Restorative yoga to relax your nervous system with meditation and allows you for deep rest. These are used as a meditation cousins. This can be used in many ways to get comfortable for you. You can put them below your knees, legs or back to get fast and easy relief.
Blocks
Blocks are used to get closer to the floor to get your body flexible with different styles. There are many styles that can be done using a block to relieve your body pain. These are helpful in creating comfort for your yoga practice.
Blankets
Blankets can work as cousins. They provide more comfort and padding to different parts of the body. You can use them accordingly you want. For joint pain relief, you can put the blanket under the knee and exercise.
Belts
A belt or strap can be used to stretch your shoulders and legs. This results in flexibility as well as helps to get working of your body parts. Using the belt provides you instant relief, and stabilizes your joint pain.
100 Hours Restorative Yoga Teacher Training Course Outline
The content of the 100-hour program is as follows:
- Daily pranayama/meditation practice
- Asanas according to Hatha, Iyengar, and Restorative style
- Pranayama, meditation related to health
- Introduction to restorative and the history of restorative yoga
- Restorative from a yogic and Western point of view
- Western anatomy
- Eastern anatomy from an Indian view (the chakra system)
- Will work on common areas of difficulties in the body
- Daily teaching practice and discussions on sequencing assists
- In-depth study of restorative asanas, plus extras
- Optional extra activities include: Yoga Nidra, partner relaxation workshop, alternative meditation
- Extended deep relaxation pose
Who can join?
This program is different from others because Restorative yoga is specially made to promote positive health. It will open, heal, and relax the body through stretching and relaxing. This course can be joined by anyone. Especially people who are facing any health problems, feel weak, or stressed should join this course.
Shree Hari Yoga will help you in this course to achieve physical, mental, and emotional balance and strength. It does not require any prior yoga teacher training to do your 100-hour Restorative yoga TTC. It is also beneficial to those who want to use restorative yoga later in their own class to teach.
Karma yoga (selfless service)
In the weekdays, you will be engaged in voluntary Karma yoga. This will be a short time either before or after classes. Karma yoga, the yoga of selfless action, will help you to learn and practice yoga holistically.
Daily schedule
Classes run from 6:30 a.m. to about 5:30 p.m. daily. Your time will be spent between asana, theoretical, and practical classes. Please note that the schedule below is an example and is subject to change.
- 06:30 - 07:30 Meditation or pranayama
- 07:30 - 09:00 Yin yoga
- 09:00 - 10:00 Breakfast
- 10:00 - 12:00 Theory (philosophy or anatomy)
- 12:00 - 14:00 Lunch
- 14:00 - 16:00 Art of teaching
- 16:00 - 17:30 Hatha yoga, Restorative yoga, or slow flow
- 19:00 - 20:00 Dinner
Note
On Saturday, you will have only half day classes and Sundays are your days off. Use this time to relax, study and enjoy your surroundings. Please feel free to check in any time from 10 a.m. The day is dedicated for you to settling in. Shree Hari Yoga will hold an introduction and orientation opening ceremony for your information, followed by a welcome dinner from 5:30 p.m. onwards.
On the last day, Shree Hari Yoga will hold a closing ceremony before your departure, where you will get your certificates. You have time to prepare everything to leave on this day. Shree Hari Yoga welcomes any feedback at the end. Check-out time is 1 p.m., but you may join activities throughout the day as desired. Shree Hari Yoga will hold your belongings safely.
