Program

Pre-application requirements
Please install Zoom to attend the live sessions. You will also need a yoga mat, computer/tablet or smartphone, internet connection, pen, and notebook. Props are also recommended but not mandatory to have. All levels are welcome.

Certifications
To receive the 200-hour certificate as a yoga teacher, you must complete a written exam and submit a video demonstrating your skills and knowledge while teaching a yoga class. Students who complete their training before December 31, 2023, are eligible to register with Yoga Alliance as Registered Yoga Teachers (RYT®).

How the training works
There will be 120 contact hours of pre-recorded and 30 contact hours of live sessions via Zoom, 6 live classes every week, and 2 Q&A sessions every weekend. You will also have 50 non-contact hours for self-study and assignments. 

Timing of sessions or daily schedule (IST/GMT+5:30)
The time for the live classes will be from 5:30-6:30 p.m. from Monday to Friday and on Saturdays from 5:30-7:30 p.m. There might be a little time adjustment from month to month. All times are based on IST/GMT+5:30. 

Course information
Due to the travel restriction as a consequence of the COVID-19 worldwide situation, Rishikesh Yogkulam has decided to provide the 200 hours of teacher training course online. They believe that it’s important to give accessibility to whoever would like to receive knowledge and thanks to the advancement of the technology, they can provide courses and Training easily affordable by doing it online. They would like to continue to share and spread the ancient yogic knowledge to those who are willing to learn.

They do also provide the possibility to do the first module (100-hour) online this year and the second part of the training, directly in person in Rishikesh, next year.

The 200-hour online yoga teacher training is 24 days (days with instructions) long, a complete immersion course ideal for individuals aspiring to establish themselves as holistic yoga teachers from wherever they are in the world. This online course follows the updated regulations of Yoga Alliance, therefore, upon completion of all lessons and final assessments, you will receive a 200-hour certification eligible to be registered with Yoga Alliance.

The curriculum of the course
  • Anatomy and physiology: Deep insights into the inner workings of the human body like an introduction to the skeletal system and bones, muscular system, respiratory system, circulatory system
  • Sanskrit: Learn Sanskrit names of postures and their pronunciation
  • Asana Lab: The skilful teacher will guide you through the principles of alignment and the art of verbal adjustment for the main postures of hatha yoga and a few other more advance
  • Prop usage: Using physical props to support postural understanding, enhance the benefits of the pose and facilitate healing
  • Meditation: Meditation and mindfulness, how the mind works and how to control it, stress management through meditation, active and passive meditation
  • Chants/Mantras: Understanding the right way to practice them and their benefits
  • Philosophy: The broader set of Vedic ideas that have influenced the development of modern yoga and the introduction of yoga Sutra
  • Anatomy of the subtle body: Chakras, Pranas, Nadis - and how these unseen energy structures play a role in your health
  • Hatha yoga: The foundation of all yoga styles, understanding the right way to practice asanas and their benefits
  • Ashtanga Vinyasa: Understanding the practice of a Vinyasa style of yoga with its primary series. 
  • Pranayama: Learn to interpret breathing patterns and provide practices to correct and improve physical and mental conditions. Learn active, passive, and balancing pranayama, how to use the mudra and bandhas to implement the practice.

Yogacharya Dhirendra Bisht

Yogacharya Dhirendra Bisht is one of the co-founders of Rishikesh Yogkulam and is a master of teaching yoga teacher courses, retreats, and allied techniques. Dhirendra was born in the lap of Mother Ganga and grown up in the shadows of Bhoothnath Shiva Temple amidst the forests of Himalayas. Dhirendra has spent many years in the field of yoga. He has been teaching a large group of students from around the globe, helping them on their journey to become learned and compassionate humans through the holistic study of yoga science.
Amit Payal
Amit
Born and brought up in Rishikesh, popularly known as the world capital of yoga. Amit is a young yoga practitioner and a learned yoga guru. His first formal training was at Jay Ram Ashram, Rishikesh, where he did an in-depth study on subjects like Hatha yoga, yoga philosophy, anatomy and physiology, yoga therapy, shathkarma, yogic diet, and nutrition, along with other aspects of art. Since then, Amit has dedicated himself to the path of yoga to gain proficiency in his work.
Anant Jethuri

Anant Jethuri is a young and dynamic teacher who is always curious about all these spiritual aspects of yoga and their connection with human anatomy. He always wants to help people to be healthy and always motivate them for healthy, wealthy lifestyle by the knowledge which he got on the university about health, anatomy, and physiology. He has done masters in biology and taught it for different schools in Rishikesh.
Yogacharya Mandeep Ji

Mandeep Ji is one of the popular yogis in Rishikesh. With his 10 years of yoga practice and teaching mantra chanting, yoga philosophy, and meditation, he has become an expert trainer of yoga. He has also worked as an astrologer for nine years. Mandeep Ji’s heart and soul lies in music and he says that music is life for him. He has practiced yoga and spirituality in Rishikesh for 18 years. Mandeep Ji is a yoga guru who has given a valuable part of his life to yoga and the preaching of meditation, sound healing, and the practice of yoga philosophy. 
Yogacharya Sonu Ji

Yogi Sonu Ji is a traditional yoga teacher. He started doing yoga at the age of 10 years. He offers his students a clear vision about yoga and it's practiced. He helps his students to understand the basic principles of yoga so they can prepare the base to understand or begin their journey which leads them towards becoming aware of the real self.
Ella Amato
Ella
Ella is specialized in Yin Yoga, meditation techniques (especially Buddhist and Osho), pranayama, and Reiki. Her classes are focused to release the blockages from the body, both mental and physical. In her cueing, you can find many anatomical as psychological and spiritual aspects. She always puts great emphasis on breathing and meditation, both before and after the practice. She also likes to add some mantra chanting and aromatherapy. Her motto is to embrace the discomfort and allow changes to happen.
Yogacharya Jitu Ji

A distinguished and time-honored individual, Jitu Ji embodies traditionalism. He completed his Bachelor's in Sanskrit from Parmarth Niketan Ashram here in Rishikesh itself and went on to pursue his Master's in Yoga from the prestigious Uttarakhand Sanskrit University. He has spent over 10 years of his life in various ashrams like Bhagirathi Dham Ashram and Anand Dham Ashram. While he teaches Ashtanga Vinyasa at the school, his classical method of teaching brings students in, leaving them with a sense of gratitude and fulfillment.
Yogacharya Mahendra Ji
Yogacharya
Mahendraji, born in Etah (U.P.), heard his calling for Yoga during his college days. Having since pursued his Post Graduate Diploma in Yoga Science from Deva Sanskrit University, followed by a Masters in Yoga Science from Uttarakhand Sanskrit University and finally a specialization course in Ayurveda, he is as committed to teaching pranayama and Ayurveda as he is to studying yoga.
