Welcome to an absolutely stunning amazing nature spot. And it is an even more perfect location as international travel without any restriction is already possible now. All you need is a PCR test upon arrival and before you leave.

Local guesthouse in a serene location. The Maldives, Vaavu Atoll, is a nation of islands in the Indian Ocean, and it’s an amazing nature spot. Our training will be held on the island of Fulidhoo which is a short boat ride from the airport in Male.

You have probably seen mesmerizing pictures of Maldives in magazines and on Instagram, and the destination is picturesque with the whitest soft sand surrounded by the clearest shallow waters that one can imagine.

The island Fulidhoo is home to a community of around 300 people. Tourism is thriving on the island, with many travellers wanting to experience the beauty of the Maldivian waters without paying the high price tag of the private resort islands. On Fulidhoo you find a local community with a lot of charm.

You will be staying at a little local guest house which will be just for our group. Expect a family-style experience with a small circle of like-minded yogis.

On Fulidhoo you will not find the typical honeymoon overwater resorts but a local community with a lot of charm. The guesthouse has 8 rooms, a simple location with everything you need at the edge of a beautiful lagoon. All rooms have AC and ensuite bathrooms. From the beautiful rooftop, you can overlook the island and the beach, the sunrise and the sunset, and admire the beautiful starry nights! 

During your days off the ocean will be calling your name. Whether it’s just a swim in the beautiful lagoon, or joining a snorkelling or diving excursion, the water will be where you want to be.

The venue
This training is really something special in this extraordinary location as we are just renting a simple little guest house only for our group and you would be in for a 'family-style experience in a small circle of like-minded people.

The guesthouse with 8 rooms is simple but with everything you need, located at the edge of a beautiful lagoon. All rooms have AC and ensuite bathrooms. From the beautiful rooftop, you can overlook the island and the beach, the sunrise and the sunset, and admire the beautiful starry nights!

Alexandra’s husband Jay will be rustling up wholesome, vegetarian meals during your study days. There are some cafes and shops on the island selling basic stuff, but remember that everything in the Maldives is imported, so supplies are fairly limited.

Food
All meals on your study days are included in the price. Chef Jay will cook you delicious vegetarian meals on your study days and you are welcome to use the kitchen at your convenience. Yin Yoga Therapy Teacher Training has a love for a conscious lifestyle, therefore their offered food is always fresh and pure, as organic as possible, mostly vegan with some vegetarian and gluten-free options. If you have any specific requirements (especially allergies e.g. nut allergy), please let them know in your application so they can prepare to accommodate that.

Certification
With successful completion of the training, you will receive a Yoga Alliance Yoga Teacher Training Certificate and a Yin Yoga Therapy Training Diploma as a component of Alexandra Denkinger M.D.(ACU).

Yin yoga therapy teacher training, in a nutshell, is all about how to:

  • Maintain and expand flexibility and mobility, rejuvenate the body
  • Practice mindfulness in daily life, create peace in your mind
  • Heal through the Daoist wisdom of the meridian qi flow in your bodies, harmonize body, mind, and soul
In this 200-hour training, you get to know all the basics of classical yoga teacher training plus they will guide you through a journey to the yin side to explore all the Daoist elements and their healing wisdom. There is no specific prerequisite required but an open mind and commitment to put some work into your personal development. You will learn all about the ancient wisdom of the main acupuncture meridians and qi flow in the body. They will give you a deep insight into each element and the correlating acupuncture meridians and organs.

Find out more about their subconscious value and the applied body acupressure points and Yin yoga poses to help balance those. In detail, you explore each body's target area and its correlation with the meridians. They explain to you ways to emotional healing and the releasing of energetic blockages in the poses. As you put your bodies in certain positions different meridian energy streams get stimulated and you activate your body’s own healing powers.

And right away, you will apply all of this hands-on and start practising teaching yourself, get constructive feedback, and develop your skills in the art of teaching Yin. Get to know more about additional tools and different meditation techniques to support this process. They offer you insight into the power of visualization and breath, Yoga Nidra, Mantras, Mudras, and Chakras. There will be different meditations, acupuncture healing sessions, and chanting circles.

To complete a basic understanding of yoga in all its variations, you will look into the anatomy of the muscular and skeletal body, in the Ayurvedic Dosha system and share different aspects of yoga philosophy and foundations like the eight limbs and Patanjali's yoga sutras.

In your circles of transformation, you create a safe space to connect and share. Together, you open the gates to a long-lasting transformation. You will get a unique opportunity to learn to release physical and emotional tension, free stagnant or blocked energy and cultivate a peaceful quality of mind.

They guide you on the path to gain the knowledge, practical experience, and the certificate to share this wisdom. Your Yin therapy training can be a gateway to reconnecting to your true self. To experience a deep opening in both body and mind. To dive deep into the Taoist healing wisdom of qi and the Meridian flow. Ultimately to experience Yin yoga as a healing modality and a way to live. Philosophy
You will see teaching yoga as an art fuelled by authenticity and creativity. A student's personal practice and the understanding that follows spark the inner teacher and sharing with others will come naturally and spontaneously. In a Taoist or Zen way, you emphasize the value of breath, meditation, and intuition rather than ritual worship or rigorous following of old scriptures and perfect alignments. It matters how it feels much more than how it is supposed to look.

Alexandra
Alexandra Denkinger is an acupuncture therapist (M.D.Acu), yoga teacher (RYT500), Yin yoga expert, and founder of The Body-Mind-Soul Centre. She likes to see herself Body-Mind-Soul Bio-Hacker, an "urban shaman", dedicated to helping people empower themselves to live the most authentic, healthy life possible. As an all-time seeker on a soul-searching journey, she came across many different yoga styles and healing systems. In her Yin yoga teachings, she integrates the ancient wisdom of acupuncture meridians and chi flow in meditative yoga practice.

With many years of teaching experience across 34 countries, Jenny will be bringing a wealth of knowledge from her background in Hatha and Sivananda Yoga, alongside her experience in Aerial, AcroYoga, and Yin Yoga Therapy of course. She is teaching with The Body-Mind-Soul Center / Yin Yoga Therapy Training since 2019 and values her personal practice and discoveries made on the path of yoga throughout the years as her most precious journey.
