The 300 hours Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga Course runs under the supervision of the course's director, Shree Hari Ji. He applies his solid experience and knowledge, in order to deepen the Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga practice, combining it with alignment techniques from the Iyengar style and therapeutic benefits of Yoga. The Shree Hari Yoga School teaches how to cure disease with yoga, as well as an Ashram lifestyle, which is healthy for happy living and stress release.

Shree Hari Yoga School wishes to take you on a learning journey through yoga, We have highly experienced yoga teachers to guide you and also show you how to live a yogic lifestyle. They aim to deepen your knowledge and understanding of yoga, helping you to connect to your true nature, both spiritually and physically. Understanding your true nature can enable you to begin to work in harmony with your mind, body, and spirit, hence reaching your highest potential whether this is through teaching yoga or as a yoga practitioner.

This 300-hour teacher training course includes different styles of yoga such as Sivananda, power, flow, vinyasa, raja yoga, and yoga therapy.

Syllabus outline
  • Module 1: Concept and meaning of yoga therapy, History of yoga therapy Characteristics of yoga therapy, Principles and basis of yoga therapy, and Integrated approach of yoga therapy.
  • Module 2: Concept of health and disease and mechanism of disease according to yoga, development, and reversal of disease according to the soul, mind, and body approach.
  • Module 3: Physiology of stress and how stress leads to psychosomatic ailments; Stress management through yoga.
  • Module 4: Soul, mind, and body approach and its uses. Understanding the development of disease and reversal of the disease.
  • Module 5: Yoga for common psycho-somatic ailments such as back pain. Yoga for Sciatica. Yoga for Diabetes, high blood pressure, and asthma. Yoga for IBS, constipation, and many other diseases, yoga in pregnancy, prenatal yoga, and post-natal yoga.
  • Module 6: Concept and meaning of Multi-style yoga, rope yoga, chair yoga for treatment. Physiological basis of dynamic and static forms of yoga Power Yoga, Flow yoga, Hatha vinyasa, Sivananda yoga, Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga, Restorative yoga, Iyengar Yoga, Vinyasa flow yoga, Pranayama, Meditation, Teaching, and methodology.
  • Module 7: Teaching Methodology and principles of teaching, teaching practice.
  • Module 8: Ayurveda - basic knowledge about Ayurveda which can help in healthy living, how to use Ayurveda according to dosha, and to diagnose and cure. Use of Ayurveda for sequencing and practice of yoga for individual ailments.

Typical daily schedule
  • 07:00-10:00 Traditional Hatha yoga classes including kriya, pranayama, and asana practices
  • 09:00-10:00 Breakfast
  • 10:00-11:15 Yoga philosophy
  • 11:30-12:30 Anatomy
  • 12:30-14:45 Lunch and Rest
  • 14:45-15:45 The art of teaching. /Yoga methodology
  • 16:00-17:30 Afternoon asana, Ashtanga, and Vinyasa /Therapeutic yoga practices
  • 17:30-18:30 Evening activities and Aarti
Note: the schedule above is applied for 6 days a week. The evening activities include meditation, Japa meditation, spiritual documentaries, kirtans, and satsangs.

Please note that the 300-hour yoga teacher certification is open to anyone who is interested in learning the ancient science of health and spirituality after finishing a 200-hour yoga teacher training course at any yoga school. It is available for all of those who have some past experience with yoga, although your eligibility will be assessed after you submit the application form.

The accommodation offered is simple, comfortable, safe, and clean. You are located very close to both the yoga hall and also to Kudle beach. You can choose from shared accommodation which caters for a maximum of two people or alternatively you can choose to have a private single room. These rooms are your perfect respite for rest and relaxation. The sheets are crisp, clean, and pristine white. You will immediately sink into the comfortable mattress.

As you open your door you will witness the spectacular scenery of rolling hills, rice fields, and palm trees that blow in the breeze. The warm, salty breeze from the ocean will fill your soul with calmness.

The menu is healthy and energy-boosting. You will be served from Monday to Saturday 3 times a day with local fresh cooked meals.

Location

Gokarna is a small temple town on the western coast of India in the state of Karnatica. This is located in the Kumta taluk region of Uttara Kannada. The main temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. Mahabhaleshwara Temple, the temple houses what is believed to be the original image of Lord Shiva's lingam (Atmalinga).

Gokarna is known as one of the seven important Hindu pilgrimage centres. It is on what was once an unspoiled beach near the estuary of the river Aghanashini. Recently, due to the number of tourists, the character of the town has changed; it is no longer just a pilgrimage as it hosts tourists nowadays. However, a large number of devotees visit Gokarna to offer prayers to Lord Shiva.

Due to Gokarnas relaxed, unspoiled and rustic nature, many western tourists began visiting the place approximately a decade ago. Therefore enterprising locals opened stores and restaurants.

The drive up on the winding path that leads to Gokarna is scenic, with the rocky mountains and the Western Ghats on one side and the Arabian Sea on the other side. Gokarna is known for its beaches. Gokarna's main beach and Kudle beach are facing west. Om beach, Half Moon Beach, and Paradise Beach (also known as Full Moon beach) are facing south. Heaven Beach and Nirvana Beach (3 kilometres long with fine white sand) lie across the Aghanashini River.

Guru Hari was raised by a Nepalese father and Indian mother in a cross-cultural context near Rishikesh. From an early age, Hari rejoiced in and sung mantra. Presently, Guru Hari teaches a traditional Hatha yoga combined with classical knowledge, experiential understanding, and wisdom, as well as a modern outlook. This style of yoga teaching by Guru Hari is essentially a Nath lineage tradition. Guru Hari is also a chef of Ayurvedic food which is known in yogi terminology as sattvic food.
