You’ll join fellow yoga enthusiasts and plunge into a replenishing mix of yoga, meditation and mindfulness between the treetops. Start your day with energising yoga in the open-air studio and fill your lungs with the fresh forest air. During the day, you’ll have plenty of time to explore your surroundings on a hike, canoe trip or surfing and standup paddle boarding session. The evenings are a time for relaxation with gentle yoga and meditation. Tasty vegan meals are also served daily.

Cachopas - Yoga Nature Lodge offers outdoor yoga retreats in the middle of nature. They combine physical yoga exercises in the morning, restorative ones in the afternoon with different breathing techniques, meditation, healthy dishes, and a lot of time for yourself where you can rest, read a book, do mindful walks through nature, or discover the area.

Find time to relax and reconnect with your inner nature. The yoga lodge is located in its own small, silent valley, integrated on a farm with an organic garden and some lovely animals on the land where you can listen to see the sunrise in the morning, listen to the birds singing and see the sunset and stargaze at night.

The place is connected to the Rota Vicentina hiking trail that leads you to a charming little town and to the nearby beach, which is well known for surfing and awarded as one of the most beautiful beaches in Portugal.

Cachopas - Yoga Nature Lodge is located at the border between the calm Alentejo and the more vibrant Algarve. The closest bigger town is Odeceixe, which is within walking distance and connected to the "Rota Vicentina" hiking trail. The beach is just 7.5 kilometres away, also still reachable by foot within a 90-minute walk. The lodge itself is located in its own small and calm valley, in the middle of nature.

The venue

You will be accommodated in a small, simple equipped but cosy wooden house, normally for two people. You can choose between a private house or a shared house both with a comfortable, king-size bed, simply equipped kitchenette, and either own bathroom with a shower and compost toilet or a shared bathroom. Both have an outdoor sitting area with a view of pure nature.

Food

There is a rich breakfast, vegetarian and vegan-friendly, and generally includes fresh orange juice, oatmeal, fruits, self-made dark bread, normal and gluten-free, local honey, boiled or scrambled fresh eggs from their chickens, and some vegan paste.

The lunch is a soup at the lodge or fruits to take away.

For dinner, they serve a warm vegetarian/ vegan meal.

If you have special dietary requirements it's a good idea to communicate them to the organiser when making a reservation

Program

You will start your yoga classes early in the morning depending on the season at around 07:00 or 8.30 a.m. followed by breakfast. The morning class is 90-minute. After the yoga class, you have free time, where you can take a walk through nature, to town or to the beach, get a massage or go surfing, canoeing, standup paddling or just relax, getting a lunch package with you. In the afternoon at 04:30 or 6 p.m., you have another yoga class followed by a warm dinner.

Optional activities

To tailor your very personal retreat, you might like to take a surf lesson or course or just rent a board and wet suit, do stand-up paddling, canoeing, or horseback riding, or get a wellness treat with a massage.

Tanja

Tanja is a Hatha Yoga instructor. Her teaching is based on B.K.S Iyengar methodology. She has 200-hour yoga training with International Yoga Knowledge Centre, Portugal. She's also a baby massage instructor and toddler yoga instructor.
