If you’re feeling a bit off, there’s nothing like a week of epic waves, holistic treatments and Yin yoga to rebalance your life. Located in the laid-back town of Puerto Escondido in Mexico, surfers, sun worshippers and solo travellers will feel right at home. A typical day starts with restorative yoga and a surf lesson, followed by a healthy vegan brunch and siesta in the warm sun. There are also Temazcal, cacao and sound healing ceremonies to reconnect and revitalise the body.

The holiday will take place in Puerto Escondido, Oaxaca, Mexico. Mexico’s Puerto Escondido is a highly desirable place, a small mellow town where Mexicans, ex-pats, and world travellers intermingle, and surfboards are as normal as cell phones. It is famous for its laid-back, authentic beach ambience. No big hotels. It is rated one of the top surfing destinations in the world.
Barbarenas is located just 10 kilometres away from the Puerto Escondido Airport (PMX) and a 10-minute walk to La Punta, Zicatela beach where you find delicious restaurants and local handcraft stores. They are surrounded by nature on top of La Punta Beach.
The venue
You will be sleeping in one of three eco-cabañas on the property. Barbarenas offer private cabins, shared twin rooms and shared quadruple bedrooms with a shared terrace. All bedrooms, but the Nook Bed, have an en-suite bathroom with a rain shower. The nook bed has a shared bathroom. The rooms are kept naturally fresh thanks to the adobe walls. The art pieces in the room make your stay extra special.
Barbarenas is a sustainable oasis, within walking distance from the beach, with a beautiful permaculture garden, natural swimming pool, open kitchen, and yoga shala with an ocean view. All props - yoga mats, bolsters, blocks, straps - are provided.
Food
You will be served a light snack before yoga, a delicious vegan brunch, and a vegan dinner with non-alcoholic drinks, fruits, and snacks included. You will fall in love with the outside kitchen and dining area where the chef will prepare delicious fresh food from mostly organic ingredients every day.
If you have special dietary requirements it's a good idea to communicate them to the organiser when making a reservation
