Boca Raton is one of the most fun and active cities in South Florida. In a tropical setting, beautiful homes line the streets around long stretches of white beaches. With tons of waterfront on the Intracoastal and Atlantic Ocean, you will find lots of biking paths, themed restaurants, shopping areas, and great nightlife.

Located in East Boca Raton, Florida, USA, you will be staying in a peaceful place. Within a 10-15 minutes bike ride, guests will discover boutiques, galleries, cafes, shopping malls, art and marine life museums, libraries, beaches, water sports, grocery stores, and lots of restaurants and bars.

The venue
Zen Den Yoga School offers you a great experience to relax with plenty of beautiful scenery and activities to explore nearby. You will have access to Wi-Fi, and a state-of-the-art kitchen with Vita-Mix and Juicer during your retreat. Bicycles will be provided so guests can explore nearby attractions. 

During your stay in Boca, the beach city is surrounded by tropical scenery and beautiful homes. Guests can recharge in a private or shared room, or enjoy a welcoming space to meditate, study, or socialize with other guests.

If you are on a program where sharing is possible and you would like to share a twin-bedded room with another single traveller of the same gender, Zen Den Yoga School will match you with a roommate. Otherwise, a single supplemental fee applies for a private room.

Food
You will have the opportunity to detox and cleanse during this retreat, which will help you have the best experience with meditation and yoga possible. Zen Den Yoga School will give you all of your personalized ingredients for nutritionally balanced smoothies which you will have for breakfast and lunch. They are low glycemic, vegan, and gluten-free; with a soy-free option as well. 

They will boost your anti-oxidants, and alkalinity allowing your body to thrive and you will receive the thousands of phytonutrients that bodies love best! Zen Den Yoga School will teach you how to prepare these shakes, as many of their guests love them and how their bodies feel so much, that they request the recipes to take home with them.

Dinners you are on your own and there are a few options. Guests sometimes opt to cook in a state-of-the-art kitchen with Vitamix and Juicer (students almost always do), and there are excellent grocery stores within walking distance. Or, if you prefer, there are also plenty of highly recommended multi-cultural cuisine restaurants to choose from within walking and biking distance. 

If you have special dietary requirements it's a good idea to communicate them to the organiser when making a reservation

Program

You start your day with a nutritionally balanced, alkalizing green shake for breakfast between 07:00 and 07:15 (Zen Den Yoga School & Wellness Retreats will teach you how to make it on day 1 so you are empowered to gain healthy lifestyle skills to take home with you.) 

Meditation daily (08:00) every day except Wednesdays and Thursdays (arrive 5-10 minutes early to set yourself up and please note doors shut at 08:00 so be mindful of the others in the group).

This meditation time can be adjusted for you only when there is no yoga school in session) let Zen Den Yoga School & Wellness Retreats know if you would like to do private instruction on this topic. 

Shamanic Breath-work Journey is Wednesday mornings at 07:45 (unless otherwise specified) and replaces meditation. First-timers Zen Den Yoga School & Wellness Retreats advise you to relax afterwards and skip doing Hatha yoga flow. 

Sunrise Beach Meditation is Thursday mornings - (time is based on the sun). We drive there together. Bring a beach towel. A bathing suit is optional. 

Schedule
  • 08:45 - 09:45 Sivananda Hatha Flow or Gentle Chakra Hatha Flow (except Saturday unless it's raining, see 09:00 outdoor Vinyasa).
  • 09:00 Saturdays - outdoor Vinyasa in Sanborn Square with our friends at Yoga Journey (unless it's raining) 
  • 10:00 snack on rest of morning green drink. 
  • 12:00 Lunch nutritionally balanced and complete protein shake. 
  • 15:30 Ashtanga-inspired Vinyasa Flow weekdays (timing subject to change, based on Zen Den Yoga School & Wellness Retreats yoga teacher training students.) 
  • 17:00 snack, post-Vinyasa class snack on rest of fruit, and protein drink. 
  • Evenings are for rest and relaxation. Please feel free to use the hot tub.

Evening classes
  • Tuesdays 18:00 (ONLY when school is in session) - Yoga Sutras - like yoga philosophy class all about the science of meditation and our minds (interactive)
  • Tuesdays 19:00 Restorative yoga 
  • Thursdays 19:00 Tai Chi 
Evening classes are slower with relaxing music. Some evenings have a workshop happening from our amazing conscious community. (Subject to change) 

Your therapies
Depending on your arrival and departure times, you'll have a massage scheduled on your second to last day. These are scheduled in advance both in the late morning between 11:00 and 12:30, (this will vary slightly based on Zen Den Yoga School & Wellness Retreats therapist's availability, so it may shift 30-60 minutes). 

Optional activities
You will get a free bicycle rental to explore the surrounding area. Just a mile east is the famous tropical blue beaches, a mile south a variety of boutiques, cafes, and restaurants surrounding the retreat, like Mizner Park and Royal Palm Plaza. For dinners, you are on your own. The school has a state of the art kitchen that some of the guests cook in. There are grocery stores within walking distance, and there are also plenty of multi-cultural cuisine restaurants to choose from within walking and biking distance from the retreat house, “a foodie-approved favourite restaurant list.” There are also Sunset Stand Up Paddle Boarding Excursions or trips to the Everglades to enjoy the South Florida flora and fauna. Please note that a small a la carte additional fees apply for the excursions.
