Himalayan Yoga Academy provides yoga packages to those who want to learn original or traditional yoga with its fundamental principles and some cleansing packages from each nook and corner of the world, as well as short or long holiday packages. People who come to Nepal for tours and treks also visit and stay with them for a few days for yoga practice and relaxation programs.

The holiday will take place at Himalayan Yoga Academy in Kathmandu, Nepal. Kathmandu is the capital and largest municipality of Nepal and is the country's gateway to tourism. It is portrayed as a beautiful valley with historical landmarks, old monasteries, arts, and cultural heritage, and as a city of temples.

The venue
You will be accommodated at Himalayan Yoga Academy. The Himalayan Yoga Academy has twelve rooms with attached bathrooms, hot and cold showers, a yoga hall, a comfortable and hygienic kitchen, herbal tea, organic food, spa chambers, tiny beautiful gardens, meditation zones, library, music instruments, yoga mats, and Wi-Fi.

Facilities
  • Aarogya-griha: Healing chamber which is for deep relaxation healing, therapy, and spa treatments in order to get healthy
  • Anna-griha: House of food where the food is prepared and you will eat. The dining facility serves 25 people.
  • Chaitanya-griha: House of supreme consciousness which is for prathana (prayer), yogasana (postures), pranayama (breath control), and dhyana (meditation)
  • First aid box with normal dressing and medications
  • Shuddi-griha: House of six cleansing acts (shatakarma) which is for cleansing the different gates of the body
  • Svadhyaya-griha: Self-study room with yoga and different yoga-related books
  • Swagat-griha: Reception hall which is for welcoming guests where you will be greeted with a warm and friendly welcome
  • Wi-Fi Internet and print on request

Food
During your stay, you will be provided with vegetarian or vegan dinner on the first day, breakfast, lunch, and dinner on days two and three, and breakfast and lunch on day four, as well as herbal tea and water. During festivals and rituals, you will be offered cultural food. 

Himalayan Yoga Academy strives to provide organic and vegetarian/vegan meals, but if you have special dietary needs please notify them in advance. They will try to accommodate your needs as best they can.

Instructors

Dr. Subodh Simkhada
Dr.
Dr. Subodh is the resident expert. He is a certified yoga teacher and a bona fide naturopathic physician. His other notable accomplishments include advanced training on different types of massage like Ayurvedic, Shiatsu, Thai traditional, and foot reflexology, acupressure, acupuncture, and Ayurvedic panchakarma training in Kerala, India. He also holds a Reiki master degree in Nepal.
Rajkumar Karki
Rajkumar
Rajkumar got his Master's in human consciousness and yogic science from Gurukul Kangri University, Haridwar, Uttarakhand, India. He participated in a national workshop on yoga and alternative therapies in 2014 and 2015. He also participated in a national workshop on neuropathy in Dev Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya.
