These days, people are more open to talking about hormones, perimenopause and menopause. However in the past that has not been the case, we can thank the likes of Jeniffer Saunders who did the documentary on the BCC to get people really talking about it and overcoming any embarrassment that the society may have placed upon women. It's time to speak out and connect with others who may have also been struggling to understand and transition with the symptoms we are faced with, often feeling alone or misunderstood.
This retreat will be very interactive (as much as you want to, because you can literally sit and observe and take it all in if your prefer). It will certainly be a soul sister experience, of basically talking through symptoms and the different types of support from traditional to alternative, to talking about what has everybody tried so far, if anything and what our experts recommend. There will be discussions around how it impacts family, how impacts our career. We also want to talk about Perimenopause, which is a build up of menopause for up to 10 years prior to menopause, which is relatively new in terms of research and awareness.
We would like this retreat to be really supportive, be amongst to be like-minded women, a sense of camaraderie and sisterhood where tears will be welcomed and where we will understand a strong emotions, moods and even laugh about it to feel more confident and supported in ourselves as we go back to our worlds.
