You will be offered a daily morning and evening yoga practice in the purpose-built, shady, outdoor yoga shala. Morning practice will set you up for the day with sun salutations, intelligent sequencing, strength building and inspirational themes – energising, dynamic and explorative. Feel energised, enlivened and ready for your brunch! After brunch, you can wander to the beach for an afternoon swim, take a nap in the shade, read a book or explore the island.

There is a chance to hire kayaks and SUP boards or if you prefer the more creative approach, take a pottery class or make your own pebble art. The evening yoga session will be a slower pace, moving the body gently with a calming and nourishing practise including pranayama, meditation and relaxation so you are truly relaxed before a delicious Greek dinner. There will be a chance for discussion around the underpinning philosophy of yoga and how it spills off the mat into our daily lives.

Alison Jennings
Yoga has been part of Alison’s life for over 30 years. She began her yoga journey in a little school hall in South Wales with Pauline Mead in 1989 and it was the spiritual aspect that drew her in. She was intrigued by the sense of calm and stillness that yoga and meditation could offer. Many years of experience have taken her all over the world, resulting in her practice taking a rich and varied path experiencing several traditions; Iyengar, Sivananda, Ashtanga and Vinyasa flow. More recently the Yin and Scaravelli schools of yoga have influenced her.

Alison qualified to teach with the British Wheel of Yoga certification in 2004 and has continued to deepen her studies and practice ever since the first moment on the mat. She runs retreats in Wales and Greece and teaches online, in corporate settings and in small groups. She also teaches yoga in education and mental health facilities to provide coping strategies and relaxation tools to young people. She aims that students leave her sessions with a renewed sense of purpose and value in their lives.
