Exmoor’s expansive countryside is a haven for ramblers, rovers, and the caffeinated Zoom zombies longing to feel alive again. Nestled in this untamed landscape, the grand Bossington Hall is the perfect excuse to go offline and recharge your batteries in nature. Here, sprawling lawns and spiralling walkways go on for miles, and shoes, well they’re more of a suggestion. Picture scenic walks along the longest coastal path in England, WW2 tank training grounds steeped in history and mystery, and to top it all off, cracking open an ice-cold beer while overlooking the countryside. Oh, and did we mention this retreat is slob and fluff-friendly? Bring your pooch along for the walk of a lifetime – you won’t regret it.

Program
An ideal walkers and hikers base, the iconic Exmoor pathways at the back gate lead across the Holnicote Estate grounds next door. From here, you can walk to the birdwatchers' paradise of Hurlstone Point, and up onto North Hill which holds the remains of the WW2 tank training grounds. Still, without crossing a single bit of tarmac, you can traverse across the SSSI Marshland where samphire grows, and the bomber crashed, again in WW2, and along the SW coast path all the way to the Pubs and restaurants of Porlock Weir – where, finally, you have to touch a bit of tarmac!
Upon return to the Hall, peel off the boots in the Mud Room, wipe the Pooch down with the Dog Towels, and pad across to the Honesty Bar and crack open an ice-cold little beer, collapsing into the chairs looking over the views we have.
