Slow down with the transitional pace of autumn at this grounding, five-day yoga retreat in wild and beautiful Dartmoor. The perfect choice if you are eager to deepen your understanding of all elements of yoga. Experience both the dynamic and the restorative sides to yoga asanas, connect to your breath with pranayama, find mental clarity with meditation, and find release through guided relaxation and therapeutic massage. During free time, explore the lush natural surroundings of Dartmoor. Take quiet walks through ancient woods and to a rushing waterfall, breathing in fresh air and observing the changing leaves and nature during this season of transition.

Bala Brook is a retreat center situated among beautiful grounds on the edge of Dartmoor National Park. On site, there is a minimalistic home with views over the garden and surrounding landscape. The accommodation is fully catered with primarily single rooms to fit up to fifteen people. There is a yoga studio and access to an abundance of nature trails.

Program

This five-day retreat starts on Thursday evening and ends Tuesday after breakfast. After arriving and settling in on Tuesday, enjoy a relaxing yoga class. Each morning starts in silence and with a guided pranayama and meditation session. Following a light breakfast, there is a two-hour dynamic asana practice. Afternoons are left free to book a massage, take a hike, or wander through the lush property. Come evening, unwind with a slower-paced Hatha yoga practice before dinner.

Neville Cregan
Neville has been teaching yoga in retreat centers, yoga studios, work places, and beyond for over 20 years. He discovered the roots of yoga while traveling in India and Nepal in his early 20's and began studying yoga philosophy and ideas. Although Neville's initial interest in yoga was rooted in meditation and philosophy, he expanded his reach and studied massage therapy. Neville believes in living a balanced life combining clean diet, meditation, hatha yoga, massage, and cardio exercise. He primarily teaches residential courses and classes on yoga history and philosophy.
