If you're looking to deepen your understanding of yoga and mindfulness, head to the stunning Lancashire countryside for a long weekend retreat. Dive into the diverse offerings of yoga and meditation on the grounds of a historic abbey. Find balance and strength through multiple yoga classes each day that incorporate elements of the chakra system. Explore experiential types of yoga, from laughter to partner yoga, that will pull you out of your comfort zone. Sink into the stillness and peace of the surrounding nature on silent, meditation walks. Bring mindfulness into your daily life and learn how to fully release through targeted techniques and grounding meditations.

The retreat center is set on the site of the former Whalley Abbey, a 14th century abbey. Ruins of the original abbey still remain on the expansive, forested grounds. The property has been restored with a country house being built and used a center for spirituality and for retreats and conferences. In the center, there are conference rooms, a coffee shop, bookshop, and four-star en-suite rooms for guests to stay in.

Program

The three-day weekend retreat includes multiple yoga sessions a day. There is one class on Friday, three on Saturday, and two on Sunday. Throughout the day, one can participate in a variety of activities, including meditation and silent walks through nature, a mindfulness workshop and laughter yoga. Evenings involve exploring a variety of meditation and relaxation techniques. There will be an opportunity for Indian head massages and pair yoga when students are comfortable enough due to covid circumstances.

Paula is an experienced homeopath and yoga teacher, with years of experiencing exploring holistic healing practices including yoga therapy, the Bowen Technique, and mindfulness. Inspired by her own experience using yoga and holistic wellness practices to curb side effects of asthma, Paula offers varied styles of mindfulness and yoga classes, workshops, and retreats.
