Are you looking to gain a more coherent insight into your inner self? Head to the peaceful Oxfordshire countryside for a four-day retreat centered around the concept of tranquility and insight. Explore the ancient teachings of shamatha (tranquility) and vipassana (insight) through mind, body, and breath practices. The fusion of vinyasa yoga, pranayama, and guided meditation will improve focus and concentration, while encouraging you to release stress and cultivate a mental balance. With a calm and focused mind, you are better able understand your mind, emotions, and lived experience. Dharma talks and meditation workshops compliment the yoga, meditation, and pranayama sessions. Spend mornings in silence, nourish your body with vegan delicacies, and pass quiet, rejuvenating time in nature.

Charney manor is a 13th century manor house set on expansive acreage in the Oxfordshire countryside. The stone house is rich in character and history, offering unique bedrooms with a variety of shared or private accommodation options and either en-suite or private bathrooms. The beautiful grounds include gardens, a fruit orchard, trees, peaceful seating areas, and a sunny courtyard. Follow trails along the winding river Ock or to local villages.

Program

The four-day retreat begins Monday afternoon and ends mid-to-late afternoon on Thursday. Start with a guided meditation session on Monday evening to ease your way into the retreat. Each day follows a fairly typical schedule, starting with a morning vinyasa class. There are two meditation and workshops sessions after breakfast. Until lunch, the mornings are observed in silence. After lunch, enjoy free time before an afternoon vinyasa yoga class. In the evening, there is another meditation and workshop session, followed by pranayama and an evening guided meditation after dinner.

David's classes are practical and transparent, fused with his sense of humor and warmth, making them approachable for everyone.
