Acclaimed author, Sir Walter Scott, once referred to Perthshire as, "the fairest portion of the northern kingdom." It is therefore most fitting to embrace the creative joys of a yoga and writing workshop and retreat while accommodated in a beautiful historic home in the charming Scottish town of Aberfeldy. This expansive Victorian villa, once owned by no less than the Earl of Breadalbane, is also the home of your accomplished yoga instructor, Tina Logan, who has partnered with award-winning writer, Linda Cracknell, to offer participants the chance to get their creative juices flowing. Enjoy yoga and meditation, as well as delicious meals prepared from the finest locally-sourced ingredients, quiet time, saunas, walks and mind, and body exploration. The perfect retreat for those wishing to express themselves through words and movement.

Fernbank House is a family-run guesthouse in the small market town of Aberfeldy, located in the picturesque Perthshire County, Scotland with proximity to independent shops and cafes. The home is modern and bright with cozy, Scottish details. There are a variety of styles of rooms to choose from, all of which are en-suite and boast modern features like TV, hair dryer, wifi and tea and coffee facilities. Home-prepared meals are on offer and there is an expansive garden and sauna onsite.

Program

Over the course of this wonderful weekend you will enjoy daily Hatha and Vinyasa flow yoga sessions based on the abilities of the collective group. Your host, Tina, and her staff will feed you hearty, nutritious meals to keep the hunger at bay and keep your creative juices flowing! Linda will delight you with her unique creative "wandering" writing workshop and the rest of the time can be spent walking to gorges and waterfalls on the River tay, in the footsteps of poet Robert Burns, journalling, having a sauna or relaxing in the beautiful grounds of Fernbank House.

Tina Logan
Tina believes in the power of yoga to bring balance into one's life. With a background as a teacher, Tina makes her yoga classes accessible for everyone, during which she encourages her students to be present through connecting their mind, body, and breath.
Linda Cracknell
Linda Cracknell
Linda Cracknell is a multi-award-winning author, editor, and creative writing teacher. She writes both fiction and non-fiction, as well as radio drama scripts (original and adapted) for radio. Linda won the “Macallan/Scotland on Sunday” short story competition in 1998. She was also shortlisted for the Scottish First Book Award for her story collection, Life Drawing, published in 2000, as well as for the Robin Jenkins Literary Award for environmental writing (for the same collection). She received the Scottish Arts Council’s "Creative Scotland" Award in 2007 for her non-fiction project, Path. Linda has held numerous writing residences around the world. She encourages creative renewal by taking you for walks with your notebooks and seeking stimuli for writing from prompts based on your natural surroundings.
