Join us for a 4-day silent Buddhist meditation retreat in the breathtaking setting of the Snowdonia National Park.
During this silent shamatha meditation retreat, led by Buddhist meditation teacher, David Johnson, and accredited yoga teacher, Manu Orozco, we will explore methods for cultivating tranquillity (shamatha) through body, breath and mind.
During the sessions with David, we will explore the practice and theory of shamatha meditation. Through shamatha meditation, we train our attention skills and improve our focus and concentration. These practices allow us to unwind, let go of stress and worry, and cultivate mental and emotional balance.

Sessions with Manu will complement our practice, as Manu shares gentle asanas from the yogic traditions which deepen our tranquillity and enhance our connection with the body. The soothing and healing yoga sessions also help to improve physical flexibility, strength and resistance.
Accommodation
Trigonos is a sprawling estate set among magical woodlands, meadows, fruit and vegetable fields, and a stream that flows down to the lake. The residential accommodation offers a mix of shared and private bedrooms with the option of shared or en-suite bathrooms, depending on budget preference. Trigonos is recognized for their delicious, vegetarian cuisine using ingredients from their land.

Program
The four-day retreat begins Monday afternoon and ends on Thursday afternoon. Start with a guided meditation session on Monday evening to ease your way into the retreat. Each day follows a fairly typical schedule, starting with a morning vinyasa class. There are two meditation and workshops sessions after breakfast. After lunch, enjoy free time before an afternoon vinyasa yoga class. In the evening, there is another meditation and workshop session, followed by an evening guided meditation after dinner. Silence is observed throughout the day.

David is an experienced Buddhist meditation guide with years of experience practicing and teaching. He is a qualified mindfulness teacher, mental health first aider, and co-founder of Samadhi. David's classes are practical and transparent, fused with his sense of humor and warmth, making them approachable for everyone.
Manuel
Manu is a qualified yoga teacher, mental health first aider, and co-founder of Samadhi. His vinyasa yoga classes are laid-back and inviting, leaving a lasting impact on his students.
