Head to the secluded Dartmoor National Park for a week-long retreat among the serene rhythm of nature. Explore both the dynamic and the restorative sides of yoga asanas, find clarity with meditation, connect to the present with breathing techniques, and find rejuvenation with guided relaxation. Treat yourself to therapeutic massages and nourishing meals. Enjoy the long, sun-drenched days of summer as you hike through surrounding woodlands, meander along a trickling stream, and relax beneath grand trees. Bala Brook is a retreat center situated among beautiful grounds on the edge of Dartmoor National Park. On site, there is a minimalistic home with views over the garden and surrounding landscape. The accommodation is fully catered with primarily single rooms to fit up to fifteen people. There is a yoga studio and access to an abundance of nature trails.

Program

The retreat begins on Wednesday evening and ends Monday after breakfast. After settling in on Wednesday, unwind with an introductory yoga class. Every morning starts in silence and includes pranayama and meditation. After a light breakfast, partake in a dynamic, two-hour asana practice. Afternoons are left free to embark on nature walks, treat yourself to a massage, or simply relax in the beautiful surroundings. In the evenings, reconvene for a more restorative Hatha yoga practice.

Neville Cregan
Neville
Neville has been teaching yoga in retreat centers, yoga studios, work places, and beyond for over 20 years. He discovered the roots of yoga while traveling in India and Nepal in his early 20's and began studying yoga philosophy and ideas. Although Neville's initial interest in yoga was rooted in meditation and philosophy, he expanded his reach and studied massage therapy. Neville believes in living a balanced life combining clean diet, meditation, hatha yoga, massage, and cardio exercise. He primarily teaches residential courses and classes on yoga history and philosophy.
