Program

This three-day, two-night retreat weekend is focused around meditation. The retreat starts in the late afternoon on Friday and ends after tea late afternoon on Sunday. Mornings start with a relaxed vinyasa yoga class. Each day includes a guided meditation, Dharma talks, and inspiring workshops that explore the causes of stress and how to release them at home. In the afternoons, there is time to take refreshing walks through the countryside and explore local villages and historic sites. Enjoy a continental breakfast, two-course lunch, afternoon tea, and two-course dinner each day throughout the weekend.

Charney manor is a 13th century manor house set on expansive acreage in the Oxfordshire countryside. The stone house is rich in character and history, offering unique bedrooms with a variety of shared or private accommodation options and either en-suite or private bathrooms. The beautiful grounds include gardens, a fruit orchard, trees, peaceful seating areas, and a sunny courtyard. Follow trails along the winding river Ock or to local villages.

How to get there

Driving directions

Charney Manor is readily accessible by car from the M40 and the M4. It is 12 miles from Oxford and from Didcot railway stations; there is a bus service from Oxford to Southmoor, just two miles away.

  • When is the arrival time?

Arrival is from 4 p.m. on Friday. On arrival, go straight to "Reception" where you will be greeted by the venue hosts. They will show you to your room and the welcome area for tea, coffee, and biscuits. The introductory session will begin at 6 p.m. with dinner at 7 p.m.

  • What happens if you arrive late?

Please advise Samadhi in advance if you expect to be delayed. This will allow them to make arrangements for your key to be left in the reception, access will be available to you where you will find your bedroom details, directions to your bedroom, and details of how to access your bedroom.

If you are likely to arrive after dinner, they will make sure that your meal is plated for you and left in the guest fridge in the dining room. Once you have found your bedroom, then you can arrange to have your meal in the dining room. There is also a microwave for guests to use.
